I had the pleasure of meeting James and Lori back in 2014, while staying with a buddy of mine in during venue scout in California. I remember arriving at his house and being greeted at the front door by James, his roommate. James is one of those guys who you are immediately drawn to. His charismatic personality and genuine interest in people is unlike anyone I've ever met before...then enter Lori. Lori is hysterical, says what is on everybody's mind and is the type of person who can an uncanny ability to read people like a book. Every conversation with this couple was so funny, yet so impactful. You couldn't leave without feeling encouraged, challenged and loved all at the same time. After their engagement, I secretly hoped that they'd reach out to me about doing their wedding. I would causally drop hints leading up to the proposal whenever I was in town staying with James. And having another one of my best friends happen to be Lori's roommate helped the cause a little bit too.
Working with these guys was nothing short of an absolute pleasure. They gave me some vision for their day and then left it in my hands to connect the dots and determine all the details. Their venue was kind of a blank slate, in the best way. The first wedding I ever did took place here years before and obviously my style has changed, ever so slightly, so getting to come back to Highland Springs Resort was really exciting. The long rows of aged olive tree groves and the blooming lavender fields are hard to beat, but mix in the emotions of this wedding and you truly have a masterpiece of a wedding. Their's will go down as one of the most moving & inspiring ceremonies I've ever been a part of. There wasn't a dry eye in the place, from the demonstration of love they shared for each, to the way their honored James' late mother, to the beautiful time of worship they had as Lori walked down the aisle. Then the party kicked off with confetti canons down the aisle during the recessional...and the party never stopped! Seriously the most intense dance floor I've ever seen. Pretty sure James changed through 3 shirts before the sparkler exit. It being over 100 degrees didn't help much either.

I still watch it, even a year later!
