I remember getting an inquiry into my inbox from a couple from Philadelphia that wanted to plan a destination wedding. My mind instantly started jumping all over the map, thinking of all the cool places we could do a destination wedding at. I was thinking Tuscany or Bali or something amazing and exotic. As I kept reading, I soon discovered their incredibly destination was...Seattle. Literally, the least possible "destination" destination wedding I could physically do. They wanted someone local, who was familiar with the venue and Seattle area vendors, so while I was only driving 15 min, I was happy to take on this destination affair!
After I kissed my dreams of an exotic waterfalls and rolling vineyard hills goodbye, I continued reading about this couple and quickly realized they have to be two of the coolest people alive. Erin is a nurse, & Chris worked in medical sales and they fell in love at work and then started a rock band together. They shared a mutual love of Parks & Rec. and seriously have the most beautiful dog- a Samoyed named Taco- I mean, what's not to love? Erin, described her ideal aesthetic as fresh & botanical, with lots of wild greenery, neutral floral and natural accents like wood and linen. Erin mentioned that they'd be in town in a few weeks and would love to do a walk through, but after that, the decision making would be left to me, because of the distance and lack of time to travel back and forth. All these factors made me instantly love them and a few weeks later, we met up, hit it off, and planned one of my favorite weddings yet!
This was probably my 10th or so Sodo Park wedding, but something about this wedding made me see this industrial warehouse with a whole new set of eyes, as we created a ceremony & reception that felt bright & fresh, with billowing chiffon drapes, cascading floral full of blueberries on the vine, garden roses & clematis and vintage silver compotes full of black berries. Libby Tipton created the most stunning, hand drawn & hand cut menu cards, that we're accented by a stunning ombre'd escort card wall, that left all the guests talking. Thankfully, we had the incredibly Maria Lamb behind the camera, capturing everything beautifully!
Erin & Chris we're truly dream clients and I wish Philly we're closer, because I'd make them be friends with me...mostly so I could hang out with Taco. Enjoy a look inside their Seattle, destination wedding!
